SUMMARY:Mandated Reporter Training - - 19 Jan 22 08:30
DESCRIPTION:Keeping Children Safe Child Abuse and Neglect Curriculum for Ea
rly Childhood Professionals Abused or neglected children can be found in a
ny neighborhood\, classroom\, and child care program. Knowing the signs an
d behaviors associated with child maltreatment is important for profession
als involved with children on a regular basis. Acting on that suspicion an
d making a report of child abuse may be the one thing that makes a critica
l difference in a child's life Child care professionals share with parents
the responsibility of keeping children safe\, protected\, and secure in a
n environment that nurtures healthy growth and development. Unlike parents
\, caregivers are recognized by the state as mandated reporters of child a
buse and neglect. The Keeping Children Safe curriculum was developed to st
rengthen the caregiver's role in identifying\, preventing\, and where indi
cated\, reporting child abuse and neglect.\n\nThe training includes techni
ques to give child-care providers the information they need to not only id
entify and understand child maltreatment\, but to engage families regardin
g access to parent education\, social connections\, and concrete supports
in their communities. Questions for discussion\, ways to take action\, and
suggestions are all part of this experience. This curriculum has been des
igned to meet the training requirement for child abuse and neglect recogni
tion and prevention as outlined in the Ohio Department of Job and Family S
ervices Licensing Rules with the addition of the language of the Strengthe
ning Families Initiative. 6 SW CEU credits will be offered for completion
of this full training. An ODJFS certificate good for 3 years will also be
provided.\n\nPlease contact emilykuchey@gmail.com if there are any questio
ns.\n\n&nbsp\;\nPLEASE NOTE! By submitting your information below and clic
king "Register Now" you will be registered.\nPlease disregard any conflict
ing information that may appear on the confirmation screen regarding confi
rmation emails. You are registered. Thank you!
